Sometimes all you need to move is one pallet. A part for a machine that is down in Seville, boxes of product that must be in Vigo first thing tomorrow, stand material left behind at the warehouse. The volume is small, but the clock runs just the same, and a pallet network that takes one to three days is too slow.
This guide explains when a dedicated express transport pays off for one pallet or a few packages, how the options compare, which vehicle to choose, which transit times are realistic between Barcelona, the Vallès, Seville, Vigo and the rest of Spain, and how to prepare the shipment so it leaves without delay.

Three ways to move a pallet and how they differ
| Option | Usual transit time | Cost per pallet | Control and risk |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pallet network (shared) | One to three days depending on destination (indicative) | The lowest | Several transfers, imprecise delivery time |
| Express courier | 24 hours to main destinations | Medium | Designed for parcels, not heavy pallets |
| Dedicated express vehicle | Same day or first thing next day | The highest per pallet | Direct, with an agreed time and contact with the driver |
The pallet network is the right choice when time does not matter: it is cheap and reliable. A courier suits light parcels. A dedicated service is what you use when the deadline, the time slot or the condition of the goods matter more than the cost.
When a dedicated service pays off for a single pallet
- A machine or line that is down waiting for a part; every hour without production costs more than the transport. See also urgent industrial spare parts (in Spanish).
- A critical delivery time: a trade fair, a shop opening, an event, a set-up.
- Delicate or valuable goods that should not go through transfers or share a load; more in the guide on direct transport (in Spanish).
- No time for network transit: the destination needs the goods tomorrow, not in three days.
- Door to door with a time window, even on an industrial estate or a location off the network's usual routes.
- Mixed shipments: a pallet plus a few boxes, a flight case or a box of samples that a network would not accept together.
Which vehicle for a pallet

A euro pallet measures 120 × 80 cm, and height and weight decide the vehicle. Almost every one-pallet shipment is solved with one of these vehicles:
| Load | Vehicle | Unloading |
|---|---|---|
| One pallet or a few packages, moderate weight | Express van (L4) (Spanish) | At ground level; needs a pallet truck or forklift at destination |
| Heavy pallet or delivery without a dock | 3,500 kg box body with tail lift (Spanish) | The tail lift lowers the pallet to the ground |
| Several pallets or long pieces | 12 t or 18 t rigid truck (Spanish) | With tail lift depending on vehicle |
As a reference, a large van has a payload of 1,000–1,200 kg and normally takes between two and four euro pallets depending on height. If in doubt, see the guide which vehicle do I need (in Spanish).
Realistic transit times: pickup in Seville, Vigo or the Vallès
The total time of an urgent service is the sum of vehicle assignment, pickup, driving and delivery. Driving varies the most, so these are the indicative distances and transit times of the usual corridors:
| Corridor | Distance | Driving | Realistic transit time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Barcelona ↔ Madrid | 620 km | about 6 h | Same day if it leaves in the morning |
| Barcelona ↔ Valencia | 350 km | about 3 h 30 | Same day |
| Barcelona ↔ Zaragoza | 315 km | about 3 h | Same day |
| Barcelona ↔ Bilbao | 610 km | about 6 h | Same day if it leaves in the morning |
| Barcelona ↔ Seville | 1000 km | about 9 h 30 | Same day with a relief driver; otherwise first thing next day |
| Barcelona ↔ Málaga | 1000 km | about 9 h 30 | Same day with a relief driver; otherwise first thing next day |
| Barcelona ↔ Vigo | 1150 km | about 11 h | With a relief driver or planned rest; normally next day |
These are reference figures: they do not include loading, unloading or rests, and depend on traffic and departure time. The routes work in both directions: a pallet can go from Barcelona to Seville just as easily as from Seville or Vigo to the Vallès. We are based in Caldes de Montbui (Vallès), so pickups and deliveries in Granollers, Cardedeu, Mollet, Sabadell or Terrassa are immediate. For distant origins we assign the available vehicle closest to the pickup point.
How a tight deadline is met
- Early departure: the sooner the vehicle collects, the more margin is left to arrive on time.
- Relief driver or planned rest: on journeys of more than 9 hours —Seville, Málaga, Vigo— we plan the stops and, if the deadline requires it, a relief driver.
- Delivery window and a contact at destination agreed before leaving.
- Communication during the trip: the driver calls ahead before arriving.
- Honesty about the deadline: if the same day is physically not possible, we tell you before confirming.
How to prepare a pallet for an express shipment
- A pallet in good condition, with no broken boards and the goods well seated.
- Stretch film, corner protectors and, if needed, strapping; the load must not overhang.
- A visible label with destination, contact and number of packages; fragile or do-not-stack marks.
- Real measurements and weight (length, width, height and kilos), to choose the vehicle and avoid access problems.
- Loading equipment ready: a pallet truck, forklift or staff to load when the vehicle arrives.
- Pickup and delivery hours and a contact person at both points.
A well-prepared pallet is loaded in minutes and avoids waiting time that has to be paid for. A general photo and the measurements let us confirm the vehicle immediately.
Price: what affects it and how to lower it
In a dedicated service you pay for the vehicle and the route, not the pallet. The price depends on the kilometres, the vehicle, the urgency and the time, the expected waiting and the tolls, and we confirm it as a fixed price before departure. For a first idea you can use our price calculator.
A single pallet costs more than in a pallet network, because you pay for immediate availability and a direct trip. There are ways to adjust the cost:
- Fill the vehicle with more of your own goods on the same route.
- If you have cargo for the return, tell us: we can look at a round trip.
- If the deadline has some margin, a slightly wider delivery window makes planning easier.
Documentation and what to check on delivery
The shipment travels with its transport document, showing the sender, the recipient and the goods. Declare the value if it is high and consider additional goods-in-transit insurance. On delivery, check the packages and their condition before signing and note any damage as a written reservation on the delivery document. More details in the guide on direct transport (in Spanish).
What we need for an urgent quote
- Origin and destination with address or postcode, and a contact person at both.
- What is being sent, number of pallets or packages, measurements and weight.
- Delivery deadline and pickup hours.
- Whether there is a dock, forklift or pallet truck, or whether a tail lift is needed.
- Whether it is fragile, non-stackable or of high value.
Frequently asked questions about urgent single-pallet transport
How much does it cost to send a pallet urgently?
It depends on the kilometres, the vehicle, the urgency and the time. In a dedicated service the price is per vehicle and route, not per pallet, and we confirm it as a fixed price before the vehicle leaves. A single pallet costs more than in a pallet network, but it arrives sooner and with a delivery time.
Can it leave today?
In the Barcelona and Vallès area, usually yes, subject to vehicle availability. For pickups in other cities, such as Seville or Vigo, we assign the available vehicle closest to the loading point and confirm the pickup time before committing to the delivery.
How many pallets fit in a van?
A large van normally takes between two and four euro pallets depending on height and weight, with a reference payload of 1,000–1,200 kg. One loose pallet is no problem; if there are more, we confirm the vehicle with the real measurements.
Can you deliver to a unit with no loading dock or forklift?
Yes, with a 3,500 kg box body with a tail lift, which lowers the pallet to ground level. A van unloads at ground level and needs a pallet truck or forklift at destination. Tell us when you request the service.
Can delivery be at a fixed time?
Yes. We agree a delivery window and a contact at destination before leaving. It is one of the advantages of a dedicated service over the pallet network.
Do you also handle a box, a suitcase or a flight case for a trade fair?
Yes. An express service can carry a pallet, a few packages, a box of samples or a flight case, as a direct service with no other customers' cargo.
Have a pallet that has to leave today?
Send us the origin, destination, measurements, weight, delivery deadline and a photo. We will recommend the vehicle and give you a fixed price.
