What we take to the islands
Furniture and chairs for weddings, event and stage equipment, building and renovation material, set decoration for shoots, products for shops and hotels, and urgent pallets. We run services to the islands from Barcelona and from any point on the mainland.
How a ferry transport works
- We load at origin (Barcelona, Mataró or wherever the cargo is) and the vehicle goes to the port.
- The vehicle crosses by ferry with its driver. Ships leave from Barcelona and other mainland ports depending on the island and the season.
- At destination we unload at the delivery point; if needed we arrange loaders.
- For the return, we coordinate the pickup and the return ferry.
It is the same operation as a dedicated service: one vehicle for your cargo, from origin to destination, with the sea leg in the middle.
A real case: a wedding at a masía in Menorca
We loaded an event's chairs in Mataró, in a truck 9.5 m long with an almost 8 m body, and crossed by ferry to Menorca. Before booking the ship we checked the truck could reach the masía, out in the countryside. At destination we arranged two loaders to unload and place the furniture, and the driver stayed a day and a half on the island. The masía asked us to collect the material in the small hours, at 3:00, and the driver waited for the next ferry home.
Timings and bookings
- The ferry timetable sets the schedule: pickup and delivery are matched to the ship's departure and arrival.
- In high season vehicle spaces fill up: book ahead.
- Waiting and the driver's overnight stay, if any, are agreed in advance in the quote.
- An urgent job to the islands (a single pallet, for example) is confirmed according to the available ferry times.
Price: what it is made of
A transport to the islands is quoted in parts: the mainland leg to the port (by kilometre or by hour, as the case may be), the ferry for the vehicle and driver, waiting or overnight stay if any, and loaders if requested. The sea leg is quoted separately and depends on the route and the ship; we confirm it before departure.
Documents and customs
The Balearic Islands are Spanish and EU territory: there is no customs on the way. For the goods, the delivery note or invoice and the sender and recipient details are enough.
What we need
- Origin of the cargo and the exact destination on the island (estate, hotel, hall), with access and photos if it is a rural track.
- What is shipped: pallets or items, total weight and dimensions.
- Delivery dates and, if there is a return, pickup dates.
- Whether loaders are needed.
- A contact person at the destination.
